Maria Moore, 50, and Marvel Salvant, 46, will spend the rest of their lives behind bars for the October 2018 killing of Moore’s domestic partner, Dominic Sarkar, 56, according to the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office. Both were previously convicted of murder with special circumstances in the case.

Prosecutors said that Moore tried to pocket the money from two life insurance policies in Sarkar’s name — one for $500,000, and another for $300,000. The two had a casual romantic relationship, the Fremont Police Department said.

On the $300,000 insurance policy, Moore took steps to remove Sarkar’s daughters as the sole beneficiary of the policy before his death, authorities said.
